OUTROLAND
Design Project by Trang Duong
OUTROLAND is a contemporary reinterpretation of American cowboy culture, exploring the frontier spirit through modern silhouettes, refined craftsmanship, and material innovation. The collection draws from themes of freedom, resilience, and exploration—translating the rugged essence of the Wild West into a sophisticated, urban wardrobe.
Traditional Western elements such as leather, denim, wool, and metal hardware are reimagined through tailored constructions and bold proportions. Each garment is meticulously handmade, incorporating artisanal techniques including hand-applied rivets, threaded leather detailing, embroidery, and structured tailoring. These details emphasize texture, durability, and the raw beauty of craftsmanship.
The collection balances heritage and modernity through a diverse material palette—soft wool paired with faux leather, premium suede, velvet, denim, and taffeta silk—creating contrast between strength and elegance. Earth-driven tones inspired by landscapes of the American frontier, from moss browns and mocha hues to deep indigos and muted neutrals, reinforce the narrative’s cinematic depth.
To push the collection forward, 3D-printed accessories are introduced as sculptural elements, bridging traditional handcraft with contemporary technology. This fusion reflects the evolution of cowboy culture in a modern world—where innovation coexists with history.
OUTROLAND is a statement on individuality, craftsmanship, and innovation, presenting Western-inspired fashion through a refined, modern lens while honoring the enduring spirit of the frontier.
