ABout French Design Awards

Entering the French Design Awards is simple and straightforward. Follow the steps below to submit your work and gain international recognition for your design achievements.

Eligibility

• Entries must have been created within the last five (5) years.
•   Completed, published, conceptual, and in-development projects are eligible.
•   Multiple category submissions are permitted.
•   Entrants retain full ownership of their work.
•   All materials must be submitted digitally through the online entry system.

Entry Brief

•   Submit a project brief (approximately 350 words) outlining the design concept, objectives, and key achievements.
•   An English translation or adaptation is highly recommended for non-English submissions.

Image & Video Submission

•   Images should be submitted in JPEG/JPG format (maximum 4MB per image).
•   Video and audio entries must be submitted via a direct Vimeo, YouTube, or Youku URL.
•   Submission materials should accurately represent the final or intended design outcome.

All entries are evaluated by an international jury of experienced design professionals using a standardised set of judging criteria. Each submission is assessed on its own merit, ensuring a fair, consistent, and impartial evaluation across all categories and disciplines.

Creativity / Concept / Idea
The originality, creativity, and strength of the core concept, including the vision, inspiration, and overall design thinking behind the work.

Content / Brief / Objective / Planning / Execution
The effectiveness of the design in meeting its intended objectives, addressing the project brief, and demonstrating thoughtful planning and execution.

Visual / Design
The overall quality of the design, including aesthetics, craftsmanship, composition, presentation, and attention to detail.

Innovation / Functionality / Effectiveness
The ability of the design to introduce innovative solutions while delivering functionality, usability, and effectiveness for its intended purpose.

Impact / Memorability
The overall influence, significance, and lasting impression created by the design, including its ability to engage audiences and achieve meaningful results.

There are FOUR (4) levels of achievement in the competition:

Design of the Year
Highest-scoring Platinum-winning entry within each main category.

Platinum Winner (85-100 points)
Exceptional work demonstrating outstanding design excellence and innovation.

Gold Winner (70-84 points)
Highly effective work achieving a superior standard of creativity and execution.

Silver Winner (50-69 points)
Distinguished work recognised for quality, professionalism, and achievement.

Submit your best work before the upcoming deadlines and take advantage of reduced entry fees available during early submission periods.

* A one-time $30 annual administrative fee applies to the first entry submitted each competition year, supporting essential administrative services while providing greater value for multiple submissions.
