Located in Leshan, Sichuan, the 12,400 m² project converts an existing camp dormitory into a riverfront eco-light resort complex for vacations, weddings, team-building, conferences, and tourism, integrating diverse functions with a contemporary aesthetic.

Anchored by "light resort living, landscape symbiosis, and contextual hybridity," the design follows low-intervention, high-reuse principles. Set along the Minjiang River, it retains the building's raw façades while adding metal window frames and terrace canopies to elevate material quality. Landscape reorganization links the campus, court, pool, pier, wetlands, and woodlands into a cohesive visitor experience. Interiors draw on local natural motifs to blur the boundary between indoors and outdoors.

Since two buildings remain in use as offices and staff dorms, the design separates visitor and operational flows via new pathways, stepped slopes, and covered corridors. Close on-site collaboration with contractors enabled real-time low-intervention adjustments. The program includes conference facilities with a dedicated entrance and an eco-parking lot, while preserving mature trees. Site topography is leveraged to create an infinity pool through slope greening and water-detail redesign.

The project revitalizes idle space, expanding beyond lodging to diversify revenue. Unlike new-build hotels, it integrates indoor and outdoor experiences through multi-disciplinary teamwork, reducing construction costs. Inside, cyathea fern motifs are expressed through repetitive brick patterns with metal and stone finishes, balancing cost and texture. Preserving the main structure, native terrain, and site ecology, and incorporating steam-train industrial accents, the project cultivates a relaxed yet refined light-resort atmosphere, becoming a key cultural-tourism node along the river.
