The duplex apartment on the left bank of the river evokes the atmosphere of Paris's Left Bank during the Belle Époque, a time celebrated for its integration of technology, art, and culture, reflecting a free and romantic lifestyle.
The soft decor in this project draws inspiration from Marie Laurencin's renowned work "Les Biches," embodying a gentle, beautiful, and feminine style. The use of mirror reflections creatively expands the spatial sense, while elements of Gothic architecture reminiscent of Milan Cathedral lend an air of elegance and grandeur.
Incorporating smart technology, the design transforms the space into a fashionable and artistically charming residence tailored for a female entrepreneur.
The open public spaces, partial open areas, mirror ceiling, and extended decorative lines reflect the aesthetic influences of Italian and French architecture. The mirror effect creates a sense of height and luxury reminiscent of a palace, breaking through physical limitations to foster an opulent atmosphere. The design also addresses challenges such as a long, narrow layout, limited lighting surfaces, and low ceiling heights.
Upstairs, two bedrooms are positioned on opposite sides to ensure privacy for mother and child, incorporating modern amenities like overhead cinemas, smart lighting, and starry-sky ceilings. Complemented by the natural flow of the river, the design evokes Hemingway’s description of Paris as 'a moveable feast,' blending elegance with a sense of timeless grace.
