For the design of this private residence, the designers looked for a balance between tradition and modernity, well versed in the core of post-modern decorative arts, giving the space a sense of historical gravitas without losing the avant-garde fashion. In the remodeling of the public areas such as the guest dining room, video room and aisles, the designers skillfully applied the essence of post-modern decorative arts to give a brand new life to the original space.Walking into this high-ceilinged mansion, an open and bright living and dining area comes into view. The removal of some of the non-bearing walls has made the space more transparent and fluid. A whole side of fixed glass windows and doors are designed to maximize the view from the 39th floor, where the river and cityscape are intertwined to form a magnificent scenery. In terms of color mixing and lighting design, the designers used neutral tones commonly used in post-modern decorative arts, as well as local bright color accents, so that the entire space has a calm tone, but without losing the lively atmosphere. The combination of hidden lighting and localized accent lighting provides a bright and comfortable space and creates a warm and romantic atmosphere.
The choice of furniture respected the client's wishes and retained some of the original furniture to continue that memory of home. At the same time, the design gives new life to the old furniture by replacing the fabrics of the main sofa and single chair. The client's collection of 12 precious Qi Baishi paintings and various jade ornaments were skillfully integrated into the new space design, making the whole space full of artistic ambiance.
