This design project revolves around transforming a 93-square-meter residential home into an inviting and functional sanctuary for a family of four, which includes the homeowners and their two energetic sons. One of the primary objectives is to maximize the sense of space, creating a vibrant activity area despite the home's limited footprint, while seamlessly integrating stylish and practical furniture and facilities. To bring the homeowners' vision to life, the designer embraced their preference for a modern minimalist style, serving as the foundation for the overall design concept. This approach was skillfully enhanced by an open layout that fosters fluid movement throughout the space, along with strategically placed partially transparent doors that maintain an airy feel. Additionally, the choice of a continuous floor design, free of height differences, ensures both safety and an unbroken visual flow. The outcome is a beautifully curated living environment that harmonizes aesthetics with functionality.
Upon entering the living area, one will be immediately greeted by a thoughtfully designed space that exudes both elegance and functionality. A striking grey mirror adorns one wall, reflecting light and creating an illusion of openness, while a sleek floating shoe cabinet offers both utility and a contemporary aesthetic on the opposite wall. This clever arrangement not only enhances the sense of space but also provides a practical vanity mirror for daily routines. As you venture further into the home, the transition from the dirt area to the public space is marked by a sophisticated interplay of materials. Light marble-patterned floor tiles seamlessly contrast with dark wood-patterned flooring, effectively delineating the two zones without any change in height.
In the shared living space, the use of serene stone surfaces, warm wooden accents, and soft, faux water-based paint cultivates an atmosphere of tranquility and sophistication. To mitigate any potential heaviness from the darker tones, the designer has incorporated elegant wooden grilles, which not only enhance visual interest but also contribute to an airy feel. The layout of the space is deliberately open, allowing for a harmonious connection between the living room and dining room.
