Villa in the Swiss Alps

Designed as a private Alpine retreat, this villa offers a calm and restorative living environment immersed in the surrounding mountain landscape. The project involved a complete redesign of the finished building, rethinking its interior layout, functionality, and material palette while preserving the existing architecture.

The villa is organised across four levels. The lower floor accommodates the garage and technical rooms, while the next level is dedicated to wellness and guest accommodation, featuring a spa with sauna, steam room, indoor pool, gym, and guest bedrooms. The main floor combines the kitchen, dining, and living areas into an open-plan space designed for both everyday living and entertaining, complemented by a separate technical kitchen and wine storage. The upper level houses the private master suite with a bedroom, fireplace, dressing room, bathroom, and study.

Natural materials define the interior throughout. Oak wall panelling, light-grey stone flooring, and bespoke joinery create a cohesive architectural language inspired by the Alpine setting. Large panoramic windows maximise daylight and frame mountain views, making the landscape an integral part of the living experience.

The living room forms the heart of the home, centred around a sculptural stone fireplace and furnished with carefully selected pieces by Minotti, Cassina, Porada, and B&B Italia. Layered lighting and restrained detailing reinforce the atmosphere of quiet luxury.

Rather than relying on decorative elements, the project focuses on spatial clarity, timeless materials, and thoughtful planning. The result is a contemporary Alpine residence that balances functionality, comfort, and understated elegance while maintaining a strong connection to its natural surroundings.
