Responding to the urban individual's quest for identity as pondered by Georg Simmel, this stacked townhouse project in Shanghai offers an ideal solution through its spatial form and lifestyle. PUHUI DESIGN masterfully blends the elegance of French architecture with the simplicity of modern design, creating an artistic balance between classic residence and naturalism.

The design philosophy is deeply influenced by French naturalist Christian Liaigre, emphasizing that “design should be like nature, needing no justification for its existence.” Native materials such as oak, linen, and sandstone become the primary narrators of the space. In the living-dining area, a solid oak table, carved from a single piece of wood with hand-chamfered edges, serves as a natural centerpiece. Ample natural light from floor-to-ceiling windows washes over the warm oak and beige walls, creating a soft gradient that dissolves urban tension.

The lower level introduces a dramatic and theatrical ambiance, where Baroque grandeur meets the eclectic tone of Shanghai, often called the "Paris of the East." The double-height reception hall becomes a stage for social interaction, blending the inclusiveness of Shanghai culture, French elegance, and contemporary artistry.
Private quarters prioritize a philosophy of natural relaxation. Bedrooms are sanctuaries of tranquility, where minimalist aesthetics and subtle textures foster serenity. The design ensures each space, from a dedicated music room to a meditation area, supports the owner's lifestyle, proving that true luxury lies in comfort and timeless quality that seamlessly integrates into daily life.
