The team upholds the original intention of design being a supportive force for life, rooted in an understanding of the homeowner's habits. The ceilings throughout the residence feature dual U-shaped curved beam-wrapping, with all corners refined with radius edges to eliminate the rigidity of ordinary right angles. This technique softens the sharp boundaries while amplifying the visual sense of space. Curved aluminum light strips are recessed into the edges of the beams, allowing light to scatter softly along the surfaces. The installation echoes the hidden light sources within the curtain boxes, creating a rich yet quiet atmosphere of layered light and shadow. Therefore, the homeowners enter a restful pace without needing main lighting upon a late return, allowing a mental tranquility.
Responding to the needs of caring for a newborn, we intentionally enlarged the entryway mudroom to reserve parking space for a stroller, complemented by a platform and drawers for easy placement of keys and mail. Crossing the boundary between terrazzo and timber flooring, the ceiling immediately rises into an arc, gently concluding the entryway and unfolding the main stage of life. In the living room, a specially selected curved L-shaped sofa echoes the ceiling lines while satisfying the male homeowner's need to lie down and rest directly after a late return. Regarding the private zone, despite the limited footprint, the master bedroom accommodates a king-size bed. Open shelving is used at the bedside instead of solid cabinetry to alleviate the pressure of a narrow path, balancing the functions of hanging and storage. Every aspect of the project is guided by the residents' actual habits, creating an intimate, composed daily life within a minimalist, crisp framework.
Carefully opting for Nippon Paint Odorless Latex Paint for the entire residence, which offers low odor and wear resistance, making it easy to clean with water. All modular furniture features E0-grade low-formaldehyde boards to ensure indoor air quality for the whole family. From material selection to detailed finishing, the project embodies a comprehensive commitment to resident health and environmental sustainability.
