Zhongjing Ainong Senior Community

This project adheres to the core design concept of “Nature Healing & Active Aging,” focusing on the dual physical and psychological needs of elders to create a composite space integrating a “garden-style wellness home + vibrant social community.” It is dedicated to providing elders with dignified and high-quality full-cycle elderly care services.

The project centers on a 25,000-square-meter landscaping area, connected through an “all-age-friendly ecological layout” to link diverse functional spaces. Crafted health activity zones—including a Healing Garden, a Gardening Garden, a Pet Interaction Park, and a Self-Growing Vegetable Garden—invite elders to engage with nature, enhancing their physical and mental well-being. Comprehensive aging-friendly facilities and a 24-hour safety protection system ensure holistic security for residents.

Drawing on the advanced “Life Apartment” concept from the Netherlands, the project centers on “YES Culture” (respecting elders’ choices and preferences), advocating “use it or lose it” (encouraging moderate labor and cognitive activities to delay functional decline) and “Pan-Family Culture” (building a multi-party companionship network involving staff, family members, and volunteers). Functional spaces include a Multi-Function Activity Hall , Interest Group Workshops, and Themed Festival Spaces. Through regular recreational activities and cross-generational interactions, the design promotes elders’ social participation, strengthens self-identity, and ultimately realizes a high-quality later life of “joy in aging and fulfillment in contribution.”

Grounded in nature, anchored in safety, and driven by social interaction, this design establishes a new modern elderly care paradigm that combines ecological warmth with professional depth.
