The designers philosophy regarding residential design is to celebrate the joy of returning home, to a welcoming space that comforts and uplifts its inhabitants.
The goal of this project is to create a home with the grandeur of a guest house, leaving a powerful first impression. The client sought classical luxury, yet instead of using extravagant elements, the designer created an impactful grandiosity through atmosphere and details. Preferring practicality over excessive ornamentation, the designer focused on functional hardware while enjoying the creative freedom given by the owner to explore bold new ideas. The design incorporates unique characteristics on each level, ensuring a cohesive yet dynamic flow throughout the home.
The garage opens into an English manor and wine cellar-inspired entrance. The B1 family living room embraces a minimalist aesthetic. A seagull-wing-shaped façade disguises the unattractive structural beam. A wooden door hides the elevator door, and the maintenance panels are cleverly concealed to keep the look consistent. The ground floor is the salon, featuring a classical Victorian style with Art Deco flairs. The open layout creates a sense of grandiosity. Titanium-plated metal elements and travertine add to the variety of textures and colors, different materials also serve as subtle indications of zones. The wooden handrails are specially designed by the designer for better ergonomics and elegance. Unique light fixtures are selected in place of traditional chandeliers, giving the home an artistic touch. The upper levels are the private areas: the 2F master bedroom emphasizes modern sleekness, while the daughter’s room on 3F continues the classical theme of the ground floor. The 4F features an American style and striking Tiffany blue. The 5F is a home gym, with a ceiling design concealing the beam and connecting the indoor and outdoor. Finally, the Japanese-style attic, dubbed” Chamber of the Hidden Moon,” is designed as a meditation room. The entrance of the room is inspired by a Japanese garden, a transition into a different, serene realm.
