52 Hertz is a public art pavilion in Surrey, Canada. The form evokes the graceful skeleton of a whale and creates an urban icon that’s simultaneously captivating and welcoming. Originally envisioned as a floating urban canopy, this art pavilion echoes the flow of the adjacent sky train across City Parkway and engages the ground with a minimal footprint. Cantilevered at both ends and anchored at the center, it provides integrated seating that encourages pedestrians to pause and interact with the installation.
