This project revitalizes a 60-year-old residence with a narrow layout, insufficient lighting, and outdated interiors. Designed for a newlywed couple who are dental technicians, the home reflects their desire for a modern, stylish sanctuary that balances aesthetics with functionality. Inspired by the theme of “rebirth,” the design transforms the aging structure into a vibrant, contemporary living space while honoring the couple’s unique tastes.
The design integrates “technological aesthetics and homely warmth” through an interplay of materials such as curved metallic elements, dark wood textures, and artistic finishes. The hallway, once an oppressive space, now features a curved metal ceiling paired with indirect lighting, creating a gallery-like passage that connects public and private zones. In the master bedroom, the accent wall is enhanced with artistic paint and gold detailing, exuding elegance and sophistication. The bathroom introduces a playful yet refined aesthetic with green tiles and floral patterns, adding a lively and personal touch.
Functionality is seamlessly woven into the design. Ample storage solutions and strategically placed outlets accommodate the couple’s current needs while offering flexibility for future family growth. Custom-designed furniture, including the dining table and metal display racks, combines utility with artistic expression. The reconfigured layout enhances natural lighting and ventilation, ensuring a comfortable and energy-efficient environment.
By addressing challenges such as the narrow layout and outdated functionality, the design breathes new life into the residence. It transforms limitations into opportunities, creating an inviting home with layers of depth and character. Every detail, from the curved corridors to the lively bathrooms, reflects meticulous attention and thoughtful craftsmanship. This renovation embodies a harmonious blend of modernity, practicality, and emotional connection, presenting a home that transcends its historical roots while fully embracing the possibilities of contemporary living.
