The design adopts a modern minimalist approach to craft a small yet beautiful living space. By adjusting the layout and circulation, it addresses the disharmony of spatial proportions. Natural light is drawn into the rooms, and material combinations achieve an optimal balance between lighting and privacy. This creates a clean and refined visual appeal in the space, transforming complexities into simplicity and enhancing functionality and comfort in the interplay of light and shadows, evoking the charming expressions of everyday home life. The design precisely leverages scale with innovative thinking to address the issue of the imposing beam. In the bedroom and study, ceiling-height cabinetry serves as partitions, breaking away from traditional forms to effectively enlarge the perceived space. In the public areas, the entertainment unit is combined with the equipment cabinet beneath the existing beam, allowing the TV wall to extend upward to the ceiling unimpeded by the beam. The utility cabinet behind the TV accentuates the overall minimalist and elegant visual ambiance. The design team maximized the use of materials, employing large sheets of durable engineered stone for the entry foyer tabletop, shoe bench, vanity and custom dining table. The use of lacquered screens paired with frosted glass enhances both the ample natural light and privacy within the space. To further maximize lighting, fine aluminum frame glass partitions are used in the bedroom and study, providing a bright and clear view. The space is equipped with a smart control system that automates lighting and curtains, aligning with the homeowner’s daily habits and preferences. This, along with an air conditioning system that auto-adjusts to the ideal temperature, significantly cuts down on energy use. The overall design incorporates a level floor plan with full-green flooring to ensure safe and comfortable mobility throughout the space. Additionally, a smart monitoring system is in place to alert homeowners on their smartphones about any appliances or electronic devices left on, aiding in power management and ensuring a secure and age-friendly home environment.
