For the 2024 World Bamboo Expo and World Bamboo Forum, the Yunlin exhibition area was themed around "Bamboo Therapy and Education". The design concept centers on the diverse aspects of Taiwan's bamboo culture and is divided into six aspects: Planting, Techniques, Architecture, Art, Therapy and Education and Culinary Delights. This includes showcasing bamboo processing techniques, bamboo construction, craft designs, hands-on experiences, therapeutic journeys and market activities. The exhibition integrated local tourism resources, offering a series of enriching activities that highlights the versatility and cultural significance of bamboo. Centering on a multisensory experience as its core concept, with Moso bamboo as the key element. Activities include bamboo therapy workshops, a bamboo market, firefly nighttime camping experience, self-guided experiences in the bamboo forest and a bamboo therapy exhibition. These features collectively immerse the public in the enchanting world of bamboo therapy, allowing them to experience the therapeutic benefits for both body and mind. To showcasing local ingredients through a culinary feast has been particularly appreciated by the organizer (client). We creatively incorporated various types of bamboo shoots into dishes, used bamboo crafts for decoration, bamboo leaf tea for concocting creative drinks and bamboo for various utensils (bamboo soup bowls, cups, chopsticks and plates), maximizing the use of bamboo in every aspect of the culinary experience, which was highly appreciated by guests. Additionally, the organizers were pleased with the effective thinning and management of 516 hectares of Moso bamboo forest, which facilitated the creation of the Stone Wall Bamboo Creative Forest Park, providing the perfect setting for the bamboo therapy activities. The exhibition design is centered on promoting the bamboo industry and related cultural development. It achieves this through a rich sensory experience that includes bamboo processing techniques, bamboo architecture, craft designs, hands-on experiences, therapeutic experiences, and market activities. This approach challenges the traditional perceptions of bamboo and introduces a refreshing notion on Taiwan's bamboo culture to the public. By showcasing the unique value of Taiwanese bamboo, the exhibition aims to reincorporate bamboo culture into the everyday lives of more people, highlighting its relevance and versatility.
