Design Concept: A "Breathing" Showroom for the Mountain City

Woodland Rhythms of the Hill Town is the 2.0 upgraded showroom for the woodcraft brand "Qicai Woodwork" in Chongqing. The project breaks away from the traditional product-centric, "commentary-style" display, transforming the space into a holistic experiential vehicle. The core design strategy is to translate Chongqing’s unique geographical DNA — its undulating terrain and humid, foggy climate — into perceptible spatial language. Materials, light, and circulation work in concert to convey the brand's philosophy and realize a sincere attitude of "design tailored to life."

Creativity & Execution: A Modern Interpretation of Local Elements

Micro-Topography Circulation, Echoing the Mountain City's Texture: True immersion comes from bodily perception. The showroom's circulation path is designed as a micro-topographic terrain, simulating the unique walking experience of Chongqing's slopes. Each step's rise and fall creates a silent dialogue with the city's landform, allowing the space to "breathe."
Entrance as Attitude, A Quiet Guiding Prelude: Upon opening the electric door, a partially hollowed-out entrance screen comes into view. Natural light filters through it, intertwining with interior lighting to form a guiding, warm light curtain, establishing the tranquil tone of "speaks softly, yet resonates."
Functionality & Life Proposal

The design elevates display functions into life proposals:

Bedroom Area: Utilizes the existing window view to create a "Seat of Light." The combination of banquette and tall cabinets balances display and storage; the semi-open design makes the living scene feel light and orderly.
Cloakroom: Follows a "display-integrated-with-storage" approach. The entry wall-hanging, corner built-in cabinets, and central island work together, exploring spatial potential and enhancing the ritual of use through the interplay of light, shadow, and a deep-light color palette.
Sustainability & Impact

Adhering to the principle that "good design is not a repetition of style," the project creates a durable commercial space through a deep response to the local environment, climate, and lifestyle. It serves not only as a showcase for woodcraft but also communicates a way of life rooted in regional culture, offering a human-centric and culturally conscious reference for contemporary commercial showroom design.
