Nestled at the vibrant core of the Yunlin High-Speed Rail Station district, this innovative project emerges as Yunlin’s inaugural welcoming landscape, offering a striking introduction to the international community. Guided by the vision of a “Resilient City · Circular Oasis,” the design skillfully transcends traditional transitional green spaces. Instead, it fosters an ecological haven where individuals can pause, breathe deeply, and gather in a serene environment.
At the heart of this project lies a decades-old camphor tree, originally nurtured at the former government complex. This majestic tree was meticulously relocated to the site, symbolizing the enduring spirit of environmental stewardship that bridges both time and place. Furthermore, the comprehensive master plan seamlessly integrates advanced water circulation systems, flood detention strategies, and disaster resilience measures, all while emphasizing low-carbon aesthetics and accommodating vibrant public events.
Moreover, the architectural imagery draws inspiration from the rich textures of Yunlin’s agricultural landscapes and the delicate beauty of the butterfly orchid, which serves as the county flower. Consequently, this landmark project not only reinforces an urban aesthetic identity but also exemplifies climate adaptability, creating a compelling narrative of harmony between nature and modern urban life.
Spanning 3.8 hectares, the site is meticulously designed to harmonize both human behavioral scales and ecological functional layers, creating an inviting and engaging environment. At its core, an east-west pedestrian axis functions as a vibrant green corridor, seamlessly linking the high-speed rail station with the surrounding administrative district. This thoughtfully planned pathway enhances connectivity while encouraging pedestrian movement. Architectural elements throughout the park are striking and imaginative, featuring lightweight canopy structures that draw inspiration from the delicate beauty of butterfly wings. Complementing these features are rain corridor elements that evoke the graceful form of falling raindrops. Together, these designs not only establish a compelling visual identity but also offer practical shelters against the elements, ensuring comfort for visitors regardless of weather conditions.
