This innovative football cleat concept design is centered around the idea of "control perception," which reimagines the conventional speed-focused approach and prioritizes the player's most essential ball-touch experience. To achieve this, the cleat is constructed with a dual-layer design that incorporates external air-bubble modules. Importantly, these modules are equipped with an adjustable air-pressure mechanism, enabling users to tailor the upper's stiffness to align with their unique playing style. This transformative feature allows the cleat to function as an interactive interface that dynamically responds to the player's movements. Moreover, by utilizing advanced air-bubble cushioning technology, this design not only enhances tactile feedback but also reinforces the connection between player and ball. To ensure its structural integrity, the project has conducted thorough validation through 3D simulation. Consequently, this conceptual football cleat system successfully merges high-performance functionality with a personalized touch, offering athletes an unparalleled experience on the field.
The design process is meticulously structured around the Double Diamond model, a proven framework that emphasizes addressing the critical issue of insufficient control feedback. To enhance this approach, we incorporate the ACCESS FM method, which provides a thorough evaluation of functional conditions. In terms of form strategy, we draw compelling inspiration from the innovative pneumatic structure of the Reebok Pump. This concept is intricately translated into a series of wave-pattern air-bubble pods prominently featured on the upper part of the shoe. Strategically positioned, these air-bubble pods are designed in accordance with the ergonomic contours of the foot, particularly emphasizing high-frequency ball contact zones. As a result, they align precisely with essential pressure areas, including the instep and medial side. As a result, this thoughtful design allows the structure to responsively adapt to natural movement patterns, providing both comfort and stability for the wearer. Overall, this approach not only enhances performance but also redefines the user experience in footwear design.
