This installation series, created by T’ien-kung (Shanghai) Brand Planning Co., Ltd. in collaboration with the non-profit organization OTG Lab, is specifically designed for the ANTA ARENA flagship store on Chunxi Road in Chengdu. It ingeniously integrates the panda—an iconic symbol of the city—with competitive sports to create 7 scenes: gymnastics rings, short track speed skating, dual plate skiing, sprinting, basketball, street skateboarding, and leisure.
The panda, with its amazing explosive power and agility hidden under a soft, gentle appearance, perfectly mirrors the Eastern athletic wisdom of “overcoming rigidity with softness.” This installation series precisely captures the dramatic tension of sports, freezing the focus and intensity required in the arena into eternal sculptures. For instance, the panda on the gymnastics rings features perfectly straightened limbs, presenting a mid-air moment of suspension to illustrate a balance of strength and flexibility; the basketball panda, with the tensed back, leaps high in Kyrie Irving’s signature sneakers, showcasing the dynamism of athletic confrontation beneath the rim. Furthermore, the ANTA national team uniform snugly fits taut muscles like a second skin, seamlessly fusing commercial promotion and artistic expression.
Notably, this installation series extensively utilizes RGFG—a patented eco-friendly material exclusively developed by T’ien-kung. It also incorporates multiple cutting-edge technologies to break free from conventional static displays: equipped with motion sensors, it emits sport-specific ambient sounds like the squeak of basketball shoes or the wind whoosh on an ice rink when visitors approach; in skateboarding and sprinting scenes, floor-mounted pressure mats activate LED strips to trace dynamic trajectories; a QR code on the base links to the AR mobile app, overlaying a 3D animation of the panda completing the full motion cycle from taking off to landing; a central touch screen allows visitors to access slow-motion data for comparing the movements of pandas with those of human elite athletes. Together, these features deliver multi-sensory interaction, deeply immersing visitors in the charm of sports.
