Chunmaoyong Chinese Restaurant, Yide Center

This project takes “Floral Shadows & Song Elegance·A Feast Encounter with Lingnan” as its theme. It inherits the refined, tranquil literati aesthetics of the Song Dynasty, is deeply rooted in the cultural context of Lingnan’s Flower City, and takes the four leisurely Song pursuits — burning incense, whisking tea, hanging paintings, and arranging flowers — as its spiritual core. It integrates traditional Chinese ceremonial order, Lingnan architectural symbols, and modern highend dining requirements into a whole, creating a highend banqueting venue that combines humanistic charm with a distinctive sense of ceremony.
The design extracts classic elements such as Manzhou windows, straightlattice windows, plum blossom grilles, and arcade door surrounds, discarding complexity through minimalist reinterpretation and texture reuse. It adopts Songstyle lowsaturation color palettes including dark cyan, burnt sienna, offwhite, and floral blue, paired with natural materials such as solid wood, cotton, and linen. By means of spatial progression and interplay of light and shadow, it reconstructs a contemporary LingnanSong space that possesses both strength of character and warmth. The spaces progress layer by layer according to ceremonial order: the welcoming foyer establishes a solemn tone with grille textures and soft diffused light; the corridor connects shifting scenes with accompanying floral shadows along the circulation; standard private rooms use grille screens to balance privacy and transparency; the large private room follows the threestep banquet ritual system and incorporates arcade symbols to express highend grandeur; the connecting corridor borrows scenery to echo the Flower City, and the restrooms are discreetly luxurious and simple. Overall, with Song elegance as the bone and Lingnan as the soul, the project enlivens tradition with contemporary language, achieves a unity of cultural depth and practical function, and creates a highend dining realm of distinctive style.
