Tranquility

Inspired by “the brief moments of silence in life”, the designer celebrates the small pockets of time that contain nothing, except for the sheer being of existence itself. It is the call back from many hazy, lazy weekend afternoons on the balcony, too late to go out and play yet too early to start a new week. It’s a small nudge of fulfillment and happiness that supports one through the process of life. Wishing to make a recording of such an unnoticeable yet important moment is the incentive of creating this project.

Elements such as the golden sun and the brisk gushing winds are transformed into the fabric language of silk, brocade, and cotton. The dresses are low-waisted and more casual, in order to facilitate movements. This design allows the wearer to move with comfort and style. The budding roses on the dress are of sheer ribbon, popping out from eyelets just like budding flowers do in a flower pot. This design contains two layers, with ribbon roses blooming on the bottom fabric and popping out of the eyelet hole through the sheer layer, recalling the leisure, fun, and comfort of an ordinary, day-to-day life.
