This residence is conceived as an ideal home for contemporary families, seamlessly blending hotel-inspired elegance with the warmth of everyday life. The design draws upon Eastern aesthetics and minimalist principles, translating refined spatial order into a language more suitable for family living. Rather than following conventional residential layouts, the space is restructured around emotional connection, daily rituals, and diverse lifestyle scenarios.
A key spatial innovation is the introduction of a dedicated family lounge on the second floor, conceived as a soft and intimate gathering space that encourages communication and emotional bonding. The master suite is designed with a hotel-like approach, offering a calm, refined, and restorative retreat. Meanwhile, the lower level is transformed into a ceremonial social and multifunctional entertainment area, capable of hosting gatherings, leisure activities, and formal receptions, thus accommodating both private family life and external social needs.
The core design challenge lies in balancing the refinement of hotel aesthetics with the comfort and warmth required for a family home. This is addressed by avoiding overly cold materials and tones, and instead introducing natural wood finishes, soft textiles, and warm lighting to create a gentle and welcoming atmosphere within an orderly and restrained spatial framework.
Another challenge is the definition of multifunctional composite spaces. Each area is therefore assigned a clear “primary function” and “scenario mode.” For instance, the family lounge is shaped by soft lighting and an integrated music system, establishing it as a space dedicated to relaxation and emotional connection.
In terms of light and privacy, large floor-to-ceiling windows are paired with sheer curtains and adjustable blinds, allowing generous daylight and views while maintaining flexible privacy control.
Sustainability is also integrated into the design. Through an optimized layout, natural lighting and ventilation are maximized to reduce reliance on artificial systems. Low-VOC paints, sustainably certified wood, and environmentally friendly materials are prioritized, while the kitchen’s integrated sparkling water system helps reduce bottled water consumption. The project ultimately presents a refined yet warm living environment that responds to the complex needs of contemporary family life.
