Project Overview & Context Nestled within the architectural tapestry of Tianjin’s “Five Avenues” (Wudadao)—a historic district renowned for its century-old eclectic villas—this project represents a dialogue between the city’s heritage and contemporary luxury. ARVI Design reinterprets the local desire for a dwelling that connects "Heaven and Earth," creating a lower-level duplex that harmonizes Western structural elegance with Eastern spiritual tranquility.
Design Narrative & Spatial Logic The design philosophy, "Fusing West and East," avoids superficial symbols, opting instead for a profound interplay of light, scale, and texture.
The Spiritual Sanctuary (B1): The basement is transformed into a light-filled sanctuary. By vertically stretching the spatial depth, the bar, tea room, and yoga studio flow seamlessly. Floor-to-ceiling windows introduce natural light and greenery, blurring the boundary between interior and exterior. A sculptural staircase, defined by dynamic lines, acts as the spiritual spine connecting the vertical levels.
The Artistic Mezzanine: This level serves as an interactive hub, housing a study and cello area. Refined lines create a visual rhythm, allowing for auditory and visual connections between family members.
The Living Core (1F): The ground floor features an open-plan living and dining area designed for social connectivity. The material palette is restrained yet sophisticated, layering natural stone, leather, and wood veneers. A color scheme transitioning from deep mocha to elegant beige, accented with gold, creates an atmosphere of understated luxury.
Private Quarters The master suite epitomizes hotel-style indulgence, featuring a private study and zebrawood accents that contrast with soft leathers. The children’s and guest rooms utilize distinct textures and warm tones to balance functionality with high-end aesthetics.
Conclusion This project creates a serene retreat amidst the bustling city. Through the mastery of material textures and the fluidity of light, ARVI Design successfully translates cultural depth into a modern, relaxed living experience, redefining the essence of a luxury home in Tianjin.
