To highlight the warmth and order inherent in wooden structures, the project features expansive natural veneer finishes and high-durability coatings, reflecting the homeowner’s affinity for understated, rustic tones. Across the living room, dining space, and master bedroom, timber beams on the ceiling replicate the craftsmanship of traditional architecture, utilizing solid wood to define structural beauty. Paired with black track lighting, this design fuses classical expression with contemporary rhythm. The lofty mezzanine configuration of the public area and the kid’s room introduces a vertical play of depth and movement, creating rich visual layering. In the living area, open balustrades enhance permeability, while the child’s zone employs a netted climbing structure, inviting lighthearted interaction. Both preserve a sense of spaciousness and extend a new interpretation of wooden construction within modern residential design.
Designed for two adults, one child, and two cats, the residence cleverly employs multi-level volumes and vertical structures to form a vibrant and engaging home. In one corner of the living room, the enclosed nook under the loft forms a playful hideaway for the child — a cozy den that nurtures imagination, independence, and exploration. Above, a railed study desk allows parents to read or relax within an open, well-lit environment while keeping an eye on the child below. Beneath the staircase leading to the mezzanine, an unusual space is thoughtfully converted into a pet-dining zone, ensuring that family members — human or feline — have a designated area of their own. The design maximizes both spatial efficiency and meets the needs of everyone within the home.
Removed partial interior walls to encourage spatial flow and to address limited natural lighting in the original layout. The addition of a skylight over the rear balcony further amplifies daylight penetration, reducing reliance on electric lighting and energy consumption. All building materials are environmentally conscious, featuring eco-certified boards paired with natural wood veneers, ensuring both sustainability and healthy living quality. Through this, the home embodies the essence of sustainable design — where Eco-friendly residential health coexists in a vision of harmony.
