This innovative project focuses on the architectural design of four attached townhouses, skillfully employing angled facades as a centerpiece of its approach. By doing so, it not only redefines the residential experience but also enhances the interplay of light and sightlines throughout the living spaces. The townhouse volumes, rendered in a striking pure white, harmoniously blend with the surrounding landscape, responding thoughtfully to the open rice fields nearby and the narrow characteristics of the street grid. The exterior is adorned with light-colored tiles, which are elegantly complemented by dark-tinted windows and railings, creating a visually captivating contrast.
Furthermore, the cleverly angled design directs both natural light and sightlines, resulting in rich layers of light and shadow that transform the ambiance within each unit. The slanted facades, paired with recessed windows, strategically avoid direct alignment with the street and neighboring residences, thereby promoting a sense of individuality and intimacy. In addition, vertical partition walls contribute to a clear geometric rhythm, which allows residents to enjoy unobstructed outdoor views while preserving ample privacy.
The design elegantly prioritizes living flow and spatial configuration by incorporating a diagonal plane that gracefully traverses the floors. Through a dynamic interplay of alternating recesses and projections, complemented by vertical inversions, the townhouse distinguishes itself from the homogeneity often found in traditional row houses. The thoughtfully recessed corner spaces transform into tranquil retreats, inviting residents to immerse themselves in the serene outdoor scenery. Moreover, the rear courtyard is not only preserved but also thoughtfully integrated with lush greenery, leveraging the microclimate differences between the front and back of the property. This strategic design choice facilitates natural ventilation, allowing fresh air to circulate seamlessly through the living spaces. Consequently, public and private domains are distinctly separated by varying floor levels, enhancing both efficiency and security for the residents. In addition, the sloped canopies and varied facades effectively prevent monotony, allowing the building's mass to interact dynamically with the street's texture, thus infusing a sense of modern dynamism into the environment.
