This project is a mixed-use residential and commercial development, comprising 138 residential units, 13 office suites, and 4 retail spaces, complemented by a kindergarten and management facilities to balance community services with everyday convenience. The design emphasizes symbiosis with the surrounding urban environment. The main tower is set back more than 30 meters from the street frontage, where mature trees are preserved and new large trees planted to buffer the transition between city and residence. A pedestrian corridor over 7 meters wide creates a spacious and comfortable walking experience. Nearly one hundred native Taiwanese trees have been introduced at the ground level and on the sixth-floor outdoor terraces, forming a continuous green belt that weaves nature into the city core. In contrast to conventional renewal projects focused on singular functions, this development prioritizes the diverse daily needs of residents—integrating education, recreation, and commerce into a cohesive, self-sufficient community.

The aging housing clusters in Taipei’s Songshan District—many now over forty to fifty years old—have reached the inevitable stage of urban renewal. This project takes “suturing” as its central concept, weaving together the city’s urban fabric, residential needs, and natural landscapes to create a new green breathing corridor at the heart of the metropolis. The design is inspired by the urban longing for a forest promenade. Through building setbacks, landscape planting, and spatial connectivity, the project enables residents to encounter nature in their everyday walks. This vision extends beyond architectural appearance; it seeks to infuse urban renewal with sustainability and cultural vitality, breathing new life into the city.
