Jinchu Zhitou Chenyuan

Nestled amidst verdant mountains and meandering rivers, this multifunctional building—serving as both an exhibition space and a private club—resembles a leaf-shaped vessel carrying civilization. It seamlessly meets the diverse demands of contemporary living while preserving the cultural heritage of the Jing-Chu region. Guided by the core philosophy of "enriching lives, fostering connections, and elevating values," the design creates meticulously crafted spatial scenarios, offering residents a "second living room" without the need to travel far. Here, an elegant tea room caters to both solitude and social interaction, while a serene academy and reading nook serve as a cultural sanctuary for the soul.

The design draws inspiration from Xiangyang, Hubei—a fertile ground of Jing-Chu culture. "Jing Mountains and Han River," a term denoting the region’s iconic geography, is also the birthplace of the romantic, innovative spirit of Chu culture. With "Memory Vessel: Essence Inherited" as its conceptual soul, the design reinterprets the brilliance of Chu lacquerware, the solemnity of bronze artistry, and the grandeur of ritual music through a contemporary lens. Replicas of three treasured artifacts from Xiangyang Museum are thoughtfully displayed, harmonizing with the warm, intricate details of traditional lacquer craftsmanship, allowing visitors to experience a millennia-spanning cultural dialogue within the space.

Transcending mere functionality, the building becomes an emotional vessel that energizes the community and elevates life’s texture through tactile materials, rhythmic play of light, and cultural depth. Whether sipping tea with friends, immersing in a book, or simply appreciating the cultural imprints woven into the space, visitors witness the realization of the design’s vision: "A fulfilling life, without stepping outside." This is not only a response to modern convenience but also a heartfelt tribute to Xiangyang—a pivotal cradle of Chu civilization.
