City Diamond

Situated along the verdant boulevard of Wenlin North Road in Taipei, City Diamond occupies a prized corner site with dual street frontages. Positioned as a gateway to the Beitou-Shilin Technology Park, the design envisions the building as a rising star within the Smart City initiative. Modest in presence yet striking in form, the architecture draws inspiration from the themes of ecological woodland and intelligent urbanism. Clean, crisp lines strikingly evoke a contemporary tech aesthetic, while the vertical rhythm and staggered volumes gracefully reveal a quiet, refined humanism beneath the surface.
Through the concept of an “urban forest,” the design embraces the richness of the natural ecosystem, envisioning the building as a towering tree rooted in a poetic landscape of misty hills and flowing waters. Set back from the street, the green-lined pedestrian corridor unfolds into a layered garden that forms an ecological sanctuary within the city. The designer transformed this architectural retreat into a forested courtyard—lush, tranquil, and alive with renewal. The design artfully embodies a harmonious coexistence between the built environment and the natural world, offering a model of ecological architecture that champions sustainability and local synergy. As a new landmark in BSTP, it aspires to cultivate a future where urban development and ecology balance flourish hand in hand.
The façade is clad in light gray stone, forming a refined material palette that echoes the building’s urban context. Through the interplay of horizontal lines and perforated elements, the design emphasizes a rhythmic verticality—precise geometric forms compose a façade that moves like piano keys, rich with variation between solid and void. This sculpted rhythm conveys a sense of vibrancy and vitality, echoing the tree-lined scenery of the surrounding park and symbolizing the dynamic momentum of BSTP’s digital innovation. Seamlessly integrated with its natural surroundings, the building exudes a contemporary elegance that comes to life at night through luminous accents—expressing a quiet vision of harmony between humanity and nature.
Set back the building 50 meters from the street to ensure privacy for residents, creating a natural buffer between the living space and surrounding traffic.
