Yilan Cat Boarding & Care

The project is a cat-focused boarding and assisted care space located in a 25-year-old shophouse in Yilan. It merges modern minimalist aesthetics with pet-friendly functionality. Centered on the idea of “seeing the world through a cat’s eyes,” the design team addressed structure, sightlines, circulation, and light in ways tailored to feline behavior.
All three floors were redesigned to accommodate cats’ climbing, observation, and hiding instincts. Acoustic improvements were made to reduce noise, and low-VOC, zero-formaldehyde materials were used throughout to minimize irritants. Mechanical ventilation supports air flow and reduces odor.
Each boarding unit is modular, promoting ease of cleaning, maintenance, and future upgrades. The space prioritizes safety, wellness, and efficient layout, establishing a place where cats and humans can coexist with comfort and trust.
