The Epilogue

Perched on the 26th floor, this residence was imagined not only as a home but as a stage for a novelist’s layered life. The owner, a storyteller by profession and a painter by passion, sought a place where narratives could be written not only in words, but through the walls, textures, and light of her living environment. The design therefore began with creating a fluid domestic landscape where work, leisure, and emotion could intertwine without rigid boundaries.
The vision was not to emphasize style, but to build a home that reflects the owner’s personal rhythm. Writing and painting require calm but also the ability to change pace. The design translated this into a sequence of spaces that adjust along with distinctive roles. Dining area adapts between formal meetings and intimate dinners, supported by a telescopic table and responsive lighting. The multi-purpose room allows for exercise in the morning and becomes a guest room at night, with mirrored cabinets expanding the sense of space and a curtain system ensuring comfort during rest.
In the master suite, a wall finished with pearlescent paint brings the owner’s artistic background directly into the space. The surface made by Romanticism-inspired impasto and scumbling changes with daylight and weather, creating a subtle connection between the interior and nature outside. The vanity was redesigned as a standing setup with a full-height mirror and large drawers, reflecting the novelist’s habits while tidying up the floor.
The result is a home that does not freeze daily routines into compartments but sets them in motion. It is a place where the act of entering a room is like stepping into a new paragraph, where ordinary gestures acquire rhythm, and where the skyline at the 26th floor becomes an open-ended epilogue to every day.
