In this project, our primary goal was to cultivate a healthy and productive environment while enhancing indoor air quality through the strategic use of natural materials,” the designers explain. “We incorporated stone throughout the furniture, including in the bathrooms, and selected wood features crafted from natural eucalyptus veneer for our decorative elements. Additionally, we utilized fabric accents on softer furnishings to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The warm tones of eucalyptus veneer, prominently featured in the kitchen and window frames, add a tactile richness to the space. This material, chosen as a modern alternative to conventional veneered surfaces, is a hallmark of the couple’s vision to integrate natural elements into interiors.

The apartment features ABK ceramic tiles, chosen for their compatibility with underfloor heating systems and ease of maintenance. These tiles enhance the modern aesthetic and support energy-efficient warmth distribution, removing the need for bulky radiators.

The couple let nature take center stage in the living room, forgoing traditional curtains. Large panoramic windows frame the greenery of a nearby park, creating a living, ever-changing artwork. With their uniquely angled corners, the window frames resemble picture frames, a subtle nod to the design studio’s artistry. To maximize natural light and promote energy efficiency, we installed large panoramic windows that not only enhance the space but also encourage reduced energy consumption,” they note.

The apartment incorporates smart technology to enhance everyday living. Miele appliances in the kitchen adapt to the occupants’ needs, monitoring energy and water usage while offering conveniences like remote oven preheating.

“Examples of AI and technology in the design of this project include Miele appliances equipped with smart systems. These adapt to the occupants’ lifestyles, providing comfort, efficiency, and convenience,” the team shares. “All settings can be customized through AI-enabled smartphones, ensuring a truly modern living experience. KM HOME is a comfortably organized modern home for a “busy couple” with a thought for the future.
