Located atop the corporate branch building in Xiamen, Fujian Province, the Sky Garden is specially designed to serve the corporation and their important partners as a multifunctional hub for communication, reception, and leisure. Guided by the philosophy of "returning the body to nature and bringing peace to the mind", it offers a comprehensive, immersive natural experience that awakens childhood memories and creates a connection with the natural world.
The overall layout spans multiple floors: the 21st floor features a terrace lounge area for relaxation, while the 22nd floor includes a putting green, a golf driving range, and a scenic corridor. These zones are thoughtfully arranged with smooth pathways, revealing new scenes at every turn and seamlessly connecting all indoor spaces. The plant design follows the concept of rewilding, mimicking the untamed beauty of natural growth. Expansive swathes of lush greenery dominate the landscape, artfully interspersed with silvery-white accents and other subtle hues to create a harmonious vista that soothes the soul and invigorates the senses. Notably, an intelligent plant care system ensures the garden thrives year-round, transforming with the seasons to maintain its beauty and vitality. Amid the concrete jungle, visitors can immerse themselves in the restorative beauty of nature, finding both visual delight and spiritual rejuvenation. This urban oasis not only offers a peaceful escape but also serves as a vital ecological asset, mitigating the urban heat island effect and promoting environmental balance.
The design also pays homage to its Fujian roots, incorporating native plants such as oil citron trees and myrtles. These elements infuse the landscape with local charm and evoke a sense of cultural nostalgia. In a clever transformation of space, a narrow section adjacent to the 22nd-floor lounge features a rain curtain system and a simulated natural stream, turning a potential limitation into a mesmerizing focal point that elevates the atmosphere for hosting guests. To withstand Xiamen’s frequent typhoons and strong winds, the garden is equipped with specialized anchoring systems for its main trees, ensuring their stability and safety. Additionally, the soil composition has been meticulously adjusted to reduce rooftop load while optimizing plant survival.
