Eternal Grove represents an innovative architectural design initiative that integrates cultural heritage with modern technology while emphasizing sustainable development to redefine the purpose and significance of memorial spaces within urban environments. In response to the constrained resources of contemporary urban cemeteries and the social backdrop that increasingly sidelines traditional cultural practices, this project effectively addresses the challenges posed by limited land availability. It incorporates creative design elements, such as spiral main entrances and vertical storage modules, and simultaneously revitalizes traditional memorialization methods using advanced technologies, such as QR code tombstones, to establish a multifunctional space dedicated to education, remembrance, and reflection.
The exterior design adopts a spiral geometric form, symbolizing the continuity and cyclical nature of life, and utilizes environmentally sustainable building materials, including Low-E Glass, renewable timber, and metal composites, thereby reflecting a commitment to environmental preservation. The internal spatial organization is meticulously planned, featuring designated functional areas for memorialization, public engagement, research, and ecological interaction. This design not only accommodates the diverse needs of various user groups but also guarantees flexibility and efficiency in utilization. Moreover, the intelligent management system, coupled with a barrier-free and user-centred flow design, enhances the facility's safety and overall visitor experience.Eternal Grove aspires to serve not only as a site for ancestral remembrance but also as a vital social infrastructure that preserves historical narratives, fosters cultural exchange and enhances public well-being.
