City Lounge of Shenyang General Wang

The project is located in Huangu District, Following the design principle of "what you see is what you get," the initial phase serves as a display space for City Lounge of Shenyang General Wang and later transforms into an urban living room, providing leisure, entertainment, and service facilities for City Lounge of Shenyang General Wang residents and the surrounding community without the need for any renovations.We aimed to create a warm urban living room by focusing on the concept of "new urban life on the central axis."
By carving out void spaces at street corners, we create a sense of place and enhance spatial experiences. Then, we deepen and appropriately segment the building mass, integrating it with the street corner, utilizing overhead void spaces to interact with the outdoors, breaking the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces without compromising its representativeness. Adding facade lines, we deepen the building mass through exquisite line aesthetics, enhancing the contrast between reality and illusion, reconstructing the street corner, and finalizing the design.
To enhance the visual and spatial experience of the urban living room and harmonize with the surrounding environment, we incorporate the technique of mimetic architecture into the building envelope. The use of extensive stone, aluminum panels, and glass curtain walls creates a more transparent and boundary-less space, with elements abstracted from the intention of a starry sky integrated into the skin.
To achieve a better visual effect for the starry sky ceiling, after multiple rounds of scheme selection, we have found the optimal solution that balances feasibility and presentation. The perforation rate, light transmittance, and standardized production of the aluminum panels are well controlled, and the starry sky effect of the copper metal perforated panel is impressive. The vast void space glows beneath the starry sky ceiling, leaving a lasting impression on visitors.
