The design concept starts with the idea of the "Harmonious Light" system, using the completed works of master designers inspired by the philosophy of light as a creative medium. It seeks to create an ideal living environment that is social, artistic, and perceptive, based on the changing sensations experienced throughout the four seasons. From dawn to dusk, the living state varies with the passage of time. The functional spaces for the residents are placed according to the needs of the day—working at sunrise and resting at sunset. Time flows relentlessly, and the space’s attributes evolve with the passage of time, embracing endless possibilities. The design adheres to the aesthetic characteristics of the "Harmonious Light" product gene from the Harmonious Light system. It closely integrates the design philosophy of the poet of light, Louis Kahn, with the local cultural context of the project. Drawing inspiration from light, this concept is reflected in the shapes of the space, lighting fixtures, and furniture products. The highly customized, integrated design philosophy permeates every detail. Elements such as the ceiling inspired by the Salk Institute's Forecourt, with its distant light traces, and the skylight modeled after the circular windows of the National Assembly Building of Bangladesh, exemplify Kahn's design ethos of using natural light in the space and diffusing it throughout. This is a distant dialogue with the Philadelphia School’s approach to form. Life is full of light and shadow; we capture it, constrain it, and perceive it. The early-stage challenges involved addressing building regulations related to the atrium void for evacuation and the integration of later-stage installations. By incorporating windows and skylights through the curtain wall, the design not only meets the regulations but also enhances the spatial experience. The large hanging installation, integrated with the water bar, becomes a "grounded" piece of art, solving the suspension issue while enriching the spatial layers. From the outset, the design embraced the "eternal combination" methodology, ensuring that all architectural forms and soft furnishings are reusable without the need for demolition or alteration.
