The bright red columns stand like open palace gates, presenting a classical ceremonial welcome to invite prosperity and blessings. In the heart of the space, the Dali-style cowry coin takes on a landscape role, incorporating the Duan clan's cultural essence into the structural fabric of the space.
The principles of Eastern classical aesthetics emphasize "clarity and translucency in window mullions, and intricacy and delicacy in railings". This entails using the lines of doors, windows, and railings as borders to produce a refined effect of framing scenes like works of art. The designer incorporates landscaping expertise into the lounge design, skillfully merging the boundaries of different functional zones within the space. Utilizing key points and spatial landmarks, they achieve a dynamic interplay between the functional areas, creating a shared scenic ambiance. Ink-splashed landscapes resembling mountains and rivers, distant forests, glistening wave patterns, and gentle brushwork interlace to form an enchanting dream. The interplay between illusion and reality generates interest, converting the space into a leisurely poetic realm painted with the strokes of ink.
Crafting spatial depth and tactile sensations transcends mere accessory layering; this project blends classical architectural elements with contemporary design methodologies, showcasing a pronounced cultural identity within the space. The design of the communal dining space not only embraces the festive and classical charm of the lobby's vibrant red hue, but also integrates contrasting painted surfaces, layered glass, and brushed antique bronze metal in terms of materials. The harmonious blend of modern elements and traditional embellishments heightens the perception of subtle luxury, blending scholarly elegance with a pursuit of quality in one setting.
The hotel serves as a sanctuary for voyaging souls, encapsulating visitors' expectations and fantasies of a city. As a result, room design must incorporate local customs while also preserving friendly and recognizable elements in the design. In this project, ethnic artifacts are merged into unique decorations, integrating Duan family motifs into the architecture's lines and textures. Coupled with premium soft furnishings, it's akin to receiving faraway guests like long-lost friends with the most culturally inspired gift.
