The third day of March is the National Ear Care Day named by the Chinese government. Inspired the true narratives of some children enduring hearing impairment, the designers created this work with a view to enhancing public awareness regarding hearing health issues through artistic expression, and calling upon the community to extend greater care and support to individuals, particularly children, who may be exposed to the risk of hearing impairment.
The artwork features a minimalist and vibrant design, set in pure white background complemented by a vivid orange hue to send the intended message. The warm orange tone looks dynamic and fosters a welcoming ambiance, conveying sentiments of compassion, friendliness, and optimism.
The line sketch of the ear pattern is arranged in the center of the page and captures visual attention. This technique symbolizes the transmission of sound and underscores the significance of hearing, which is perceived quite amazing and highly iconic.
The essence of the poster design is rooted in the intricate lines within the ear pattern. These lines are irregular and not entirely continued, giving viewers a sense of how it feels to have a hearing impairment. This also symbolizes the silent world endured by those individuals who have experienced varying degrees of hearing impairment, evoking empathy and encouraging the viewers to reflect improper habits and realize the significance of hearing protection.
This poster picture not only shares a concern about hearing loss, but also sends a positive message that individuals can still find the beauty of life and the warmth of their surroundings, even in the face of hearing loss. The design motivates children with hearing impairments and their families, and calls upon the broader community to take actions to protect hearing abilities, fostering a healthier and more sympathetic environment for future generations. The event slogan for the Ear Care Day 2024, “technology is empowering us to share a better life”, appears besides the pattern.
