Experience bar: Factory renovation

The following project turns an abandoned old factory used for brewing beers, Villa Zarri Srl, Castelmaggiore, Italy, into a lively bar. The concept design of the building had a central staircase that divided the building into two halves, creating flows that made the area even more interesting for the various groups visiting the bar. The design incorporates experiential elements in that, through design, visitors can observe some stages of the process of brewing beer and even interact with it, further adding an interactive layer to their experience.

The function of the facility has been more considerate for local residents' needs, including the restaurant and supermarket to further enhance convenience and community interaction. The geometric divisions, inspired by the villa façade in the garden behind, have been used to create varied spatial experiences in the area of the bar and provide customers with a unique and memorable atmosphere.

This, in fact, is a greater challenge being faced globally: how to reuse abandoned industrial spaces in a way that would rejuvenate them and inject cultural significance into the same. We seek to give new life to these structures, making them functional yet resonating with the community, adding to its cultural landscape.
