“She adores black, yet sometimes, she fears the dark.”
This single-person abode seamlessly blends modern aesthetics with a subtle taste for a low-key lifestyle. The homeowner is a woman who truly embraces the tranquility of solitude. In terms of color, the designer deftly employs the Mauve color palette, using carefully arranged light and shadow to highlight the independent and composed personality of the homeowner, while infusing the space with a rich sense of depth.
One of the remarkable focal points is the unique curved ceiling, which not only visually reduces the prominence of protruding beams and the energy recovery ventilation but also cleverly separates the living room and dining area into two distinct spaces. The curved elements soften the rigidness of the black and gray space. Simultaneously, seamless flooring and the warm mineral-textured paint further diminish the boundaries between the floor, walls, and ceiling, creating an overall sense of gentle elegance throughout the entire home.
To create a sense of spaciousness and alleviate the oppressive feeling of colors, the designer ingeniously employed LED strip lights in this project. This design not only provides illumination but also offers a unique guidance and companionship to the home, reinterpreting the blurred spatial and temporal dimensions of the night. This thoughtful approach delicately outlines the subtle emotional attachment and rhythm between the inhabitant and the space, evoking a sense of delicate affection and movement.
This design alleviates any fear associated with darkness, allowing the homeowner to embrace her preferences without hesitation.
