In today's digital age, emotional connections between individuals often rely overwhelmingly on technological devices. However, through the tea postcard experiential activity, our aim is to revive the cultural sentiments and human warmth of a bygone era, reminiscent of the last century's physical correspondence and physical transmissions. We seek to foster emotional connections through the shared experience of tea leaves, transcending mere communication. Participants engage in an immersive experience where they explore three distinct flavors of locally produced oolong tea from Lugu Tea Garden. They observe the appearance and aroma of the tea leaves, discerning the nuances in color and texture of the brewed tea. After selecting their preferred flavor, they hand-fill a filter bag and seal it using a machine, creating a personalized tea bag. To enhance the experience, we have meticulously designed six distinct postcard images, each featuring a clean and minimalist brand visual alongside illustrations of trees, tea leaves and tea ware. These visuals offer participants a fresh perspective on nature and tea leaves. Additionally, we provide markers in medium to low saturation color palettes to ensure color balance during the creative process. This allows participants to freely express themselves during the color overlaying process without compromising the basic aesthetic sense of the final visual. In the design process of the postcard illustrations, we have also considered the participation of children, the elderly, and those who may not be adept at drawing. Therefore, we employ the simplest coloring methods so that everyone can enjoy the joy of creation together. We also provide translations for foreign participants, offering an authentic experience that transcends language barriers. We aim to change people's established impressions of tea, bridging the gap and allowing young people to understand the hard work of tea farmers and the stories behind it. We also want to instill awareness about the importance of food and agricultural education among the general public. For environmental sustainability, we use glass tea utensils during the experiential activities to reduce the use of single-use disposable plastic cups.
