Danxia Annotated is an integrated interpretation concept that helps visitors read Danxia Mountain as an archive shaped by geological time and human presence. Rather than treating identity, wayfinding, education, and accessibility as separate layers, the project connects them through one coherent visual and service language.

Four graphic elements translate the character of the landscape into a recognizable system: red strata represent geological layers, a white line traces erosion and walking routes, a teal line represents the river, and an observation square frames moments of discovery. These elements appear across identity applications, maps, posters, digital interfaces, and a proposed inclusive geology learning point. They are also translated into four simple visitor actions: read, walk, record, and protect.

The Xiaozhu cultural character makes geological knowledge approachable for families and younger visitors without reducing the site to entertainment. Before a visit, the mobile guide introduces routes and learning points. On site, visitors can recognize visible strata, follow the route language, and save photographs, locations, and observations as offline field notes. The proposed physical learning point supports tactile exploration, child-height viewing, seated reach, accessible audio, and replaceable information panels.

The central design challenge was to connect branding, character design, digital guidance, and inclusive education without creating a fragmented visitor experience. A modular grid, limited color palette, and shared visual genes allow every touchpoint to communicate as part of the same system. Durable reusable frames and independently replaceable content panels support long-term updating while reducing unnecessary replacement.

Research combined visual analysis of the mountain's layered landforms with a review of visitor information, destination identities, interpretation interfaces, and common accessibility needs. Recurring forms and visitor tasks were mapped before the four visual genes were defined. This process keeps the proposal rooted in observable landscape characteristics while leaving room for future consultation with geologists, local communities, and site managers.

Danxia Annotated is presented as a future-facing communication and interpretation proposal. Its value lies in transforming complex geology into a clear, memorable, and inclusive visitor journey while encouraging responsible behavior. Field testing, consultation with accessibility specialists, and on-site validation would be required before implementation.
