"Boyu Guanhai" smart bus shelter

Rooted in Chinese culture, “Boyu Guanhai” Smart Bus Shelter integrates multi-dimensional interactions and intelligent services. It transforms urban public transport infrastructure into a multifunctional urban node connecting citizens with the city, using technologies to bring convenience and warmth to everyday travel.
The design draws inspiration from the imagery of “fish” in the Book of Odes—in Chinese tradition, fish symbolizes ascension and prosperity, while a school of fish represents a harmonious and stable society where people are united. This concept is reinterpreted for the modern era, likening the school of fish to the ceaseless flow of traffic. Based on this idea, the design incorporates the swimming motion of a school of fish into the shelter’s exterior, giving it a distinct Eastern aesthetic. The shelter’s roof features a smooth, leaf-shaped arc. A flowing curve divides it into two sections: the front, composed of a grille structure, evokes a continuous mountain range, while the rear captures the dynamic forms of swimming fish and shimmering lake ripples. Together, they create a harmonious scene of being “embraced by mountains and water,” making the waiting area more inviting and comfortable.
The shelter is equipped with a transparent interactive information screen supporting touch and gesture controls and the AI digital human provides multilingual voice interaction and intelligent guidance, enabling easy access to services like public transport information, city culture, and tourist guides. The design makes it simple for the elderly, children, and visually impaired to use. Automatic heated seats, wireless charging, and USB charging ports meet diverse needs during waiting periods, delivering a human-centered experience. A smart lighting system with photosensitive sensors monitors ambient brightness and human presence in real time, autonomously adjusting its intensity to perfectly balance clarity, comfort, and energy conservation.
