In Hemei Township, an old factory building has been reborn through the resonance of faith and music. Guided by the homeowner family’s devout Christian faith and their love of music, the designers have meticulously shaped the space around the essence of “tranquility and solitude.” In a world of constant clamor, they have created a sanctuary for contemplation and the listening of one’s own heart—a vital support for a life of faith. Light drifts through glass sliding doors, and the gentle glow accompanies the soft notes of the piano. Here, in this minimalist and gracefully understated home, a tender serenity quietly unfolds in shifting patterns of light and shadow.
The piano corner is the home’s most symbolically charged feature. With the homeowner serving as choir director and their son majoring in music, music holds profound meaning for this family. The ceiling above the piano has been opened up with a perforated design that draws the eye upward, and indirect lighting accentuates the vertical drama. In this space, notes and light intertwine with faith and flow freely.
Rather than the typical marble-clad feature wall, the TV wall is finished in a subtle special paint paired with wallpaper in a soft blue stone pattern. A hint of warm yellow in the coatings glows with gentle depth under the warm lighting. Between the living and dining areas, white aluminum sliding doors provide a soft division that still allows flexibility. In the bathroom, finely detailed tiles and patterned ceramics turn daily routines into thoughtful rituals. Layered lighting—from a central pendant to suspended fixtures and indirect sources—ensures that, even within a minimalist palette, the space conveys a rich undercurrent of emotion.
