DusitD2 Resort Feydhoo Finolhu Maldives

The project is located on the island of Feydhoo Finolhu in the Maldives, with a total floor area of approximately 5,000 square meters and 207 guest rooms. It aims to create an immersive "Dream-Seeking Journey," inviting visitors to embark on an exploratory adventure and experience a unique holiday that blends culture and nature.
The lobby reception area is inspired by pearls and shells, with the reception desk background designed to echo the shell-themed floor art, creating a dreamy and elegant welcoming experience. The bar incorporates design elements such as boats, sails, and fishing nets to express the spirit of ocean exploration, while the all-day dining restaurant presents a vibrant ocean world through fish elements like tuna.

The Mediterranean restaurant, themed as the "Garden on the Sea," is adorned in blue and white with romantic flowers, creating a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. The Thai restaurant combines Thai architectural elements with traditional colors to offer an authentic cultural experience. The overwater restaurant, as the island's most exclusive private custom dining venue, integrates details of Chinese mortise and tenon craftsmanship, focusing on Asian cuisine to craft an ultimate luxurious dining experience on the sea.

Design Challenges and Innovations:
Material Selection and Transportation – The tropical climate requires materials with strong weather resistance, while the island's transportation limitations necessitate optimization of the supply chain and transportation solutions.
Climate Adaptability Issues – The island experiences strong winds, requiring advanced engineering techniques or innovative lightweight solutions to secure suspended artworks to ensure safety and stability.
