DualNest is an innovative apartment prototype designed for modern households of 2+2 tenants, such as Airbnb host with guests, parents with their children who seek a balance between privacy and supervision. The design acknowledges the evolving needs of urban families, nomadic lifestyle, offering a flexible living arrangement that fosters both individual independence and collective well-being.
The prototype unit is organized from the kitchen and dining space, through strategic spatial planning where visual and physical connections of each functional space are seamlessly integrated, the unit is carefully structured to provide separate yet connected living spaces, allowing the homeowners and guests to enjoy their own private areas while maintaining close interaction.
Beyond the household, DualNest promotes social engagement within broader community. The stacking arrangement of the units encourages natural interactions between neighbors, creating shared spaces that facilitate casual encounters and collective activities. The design fosters a sense of belonging, transforming traditional apartment living into a more interactive and supportive environment.
