BMA marks its return to the US market with the renovation and rebranding of the Hotel at Rivington, which is now called The Favor at Rivington. This project transforms a striking aluminum and glass structure in Manhattan's Lower East Side into a haven of understated elegance, blending mid-century New York charm with modern sophistication. The redesign features custom-crafted elements, including bespoke lighting, furniture, art and floor coverings, creating an immersive environment for an affluent, discerning clientele who frequent New York’s finest hospitality venues.
A highlight of the property is its breathtaking views of the New York skyline, including iconic landmarks like the World Trade Center and Empire State Building. Floor-to-ceiling windows, expansive terraces, and glass study tables positioned against the vistas enhance the panoramic experience, offering guests a feeling of floating above the city. Lighting in guest spaces is meticulously designed, featuring bespoke bedside fixtures that add a moody, intimate atmosphere.
The project was commissioned by a hospitality industry veteran with a vision to rejuvenate the property, situated in a culturally vibrant district known for its nightlife and diversity. The goal was to enhance the hotel's appeal and profitability, targeting premium nightly rates of $500 to $1,000. Originally a commercial building, the property underwent a comprehensive redesign to cater to diverse clientele, from youthful revelers to discerning seniors.
Key features include 130 meticulously crafted rooms, expansive decks and luxurious suites designed for private celebrations. Unique glass-walled bathrooms provide an immersive experience, allowing guests to enjoy the glittering cityscape from the comfort of their rooms. Restaurants and rooftop bars offer exceptional culinary experiences, while the Penthouse boasts 360-degree panoramic views, establishing it as a premier space for events.
Inspired by New York's mid-century aesthetic, the interior design emphasizes warmth and intimacy, using dark, rich materials like walnut wood to minimize reflections and enhance city views. Art and décor accentuate the skyline, establishing The Favor at Rivington as a sanctuary for luxury seekers and urban adventurers. With operational excellence in housekeeping and food & beverage services, the hotel promises significant returns while redefining hospitality in Manhattan’s Lower East Side.
