This collection began as an exploration of time, inspired by fabrics, materials gathered during my travels and everyday encounters. Each piece tells a story, capturing specific moment through its textures, colors, and sensations. As I worked with these materials, I was drawn to the beauty of their imperfections, and their histories they carried. Sustainability naturally became a guiding principle. By using deadstock fabrics and trims collected along my journey, I honored the past while embracing the future. This mindful approach highlights the urgent need for sustainable practices in today’s design landscape.
Mass production harms our planet, creating waste and excess. In response, I adopted a philosophy of “buy less, own less.” This collection promotes the idea of a capsule wardrobe, small yet versatile. From just six garments, I created seven distinct looks, showing how a minimalist approach can inspiring and reduce environmental impact. Each piece is designed to work seamlessly with the others, encouraging wearers to express themselves while owning fewer, more meaningful items.
As the collection evolved, I realized that trying to hold onto time is like attempting to capture a flowing stream. The more we cling to it, the more it slips away. Youth is beautiful precisely because it is fleeting, moments that cannot last. With this understanding, collection was titled “Memento”—a tribute to youth, reminder of its vibrancy, fragility, and impermanence. Each garment serves as a tangible keepsake, evoking memories and inviting the wearer to reflect on the beauty of life’s transient moments.
The designs balance fluid silhouettes with structured tailoring, reflecting the tension between holding on and letting go. Soft, flowing fabrics evoke freedom, while sturdier materials provide a sense of grounding. Earthy tones are punctuated with vibrant pops of color, mirroring the unpredictability and joy of youthful moments.
Through this collection, I hope to inspire others to reflect on their personal stories, embrace sustainability, and find beauty in the passage of time. Memento reminds us that less can truly be more, and that our memories, like our garments, gain meaning when chosen with care.
